The story starts way before Justin and I and our little crew started dreaming about all that Prairie Sky could be. It started with the Savageton Community and the desire to gather and fellowship together over 100 years ago!
When the Barkely's and the Smelser's came together to donate the land and the building materials the family's started what would become Bethlehem Church, the building. In 1922 the original chapel was built and the first gathering, of it's community, happened at Thanksgiving.
100's would walk through these doors and would celebrate and live life together. Potlucks, weddings, babies, family, funerals. and much more would take place within these walls.
100 years later representatives of the Barkley family and the Smelser's came together again to celebrate 100 years.
This building is more than a church or an event venue it is a staple of a resilient community that stands together and supports one another in life.
It is a special place and so are the people we celebrate in it!
We are honored to be the next stewards of this great place and we look forward to opening her doors to you and sharing in your celebration as well. Welcome to Prairie Sky!
